COFL Expert Analysis
The time has come, for a team stand above the rest and take what is theirs. In a classic David vs Goliath match-up, COFL Night In America heads to U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, MN as the Chicago Bears (9-5) take on the Minnesota Vikings (8-5) in a critical NFC North match-up.
As most have heard, the Detroit Lions have been banned from COFL Playoffs and have had to forfiet the rest of their season due to reasons unknown. Rumors are circulating but nobody knows the exact reason why. COFL Reporter of the Year "Hersh" plans to reveal the reason why in his next piece "Hersh's Extra Point".
What that means is that this game tonight is for the NFC North Division title. Whoever wins this game will be the #3 seed in the NFC Playoffs. That is huge, not only for ratings, but for each team who was at one time on the brink of missing the playoffs.
The last time these two teams met was in week 2 when the Vikings beat the Bears 28-13 and the Bears looked helpless on defense. Vikings only scored on 4 of their 5 possessions and they made it look too easy. The Bears didn't get blown out, in fact they were in it the whole game buy they just couldn't seem to stop, let alone contain, the Vikings offense.
Critics are predicting a blowout in this game, even Coach Walkup of the Vikings predicted he would win. In fact he guaranteed he would win and told the Chicago Bears to "Enjoy being in the division lead for the next two hours because it's not going to last". If those aren't fighting words then I don't know what is.
It's going to come down to the Bears doing what they do best and that is run the football. If they can't run the Football they aren't going to have a chance in this game. On the other side of the field it's going to come down to the Vikings not turning the ball over and giving the Bears hope in this game. It's clear they are the favorites and the better team but if they let the Bears hang around they could blow this huge opportunity.
